Panasonic GH5 4K 10bit Not Working in Davinci Resolve- Fixed
Got a new Panasonic GH5 for days. I would guarantee this camera is using an offshoot of H.264 to capture the files. The thing is, when I import some GH5 4K 10bit files to Davinci Resolve, the software won't support the file. My question here is does Panasonic offer a utility to convert the GH5 4K 10bit files to a better format for editing and posting?

I have scoured the internet, tried everything I could find and finally applied a utility- Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac, a professional 4K video converter app to solve the issue.

This program lets you transcode Panasonic GH5 4K MOV/MP4 to Apple ProRes, MPEG-2, Apple InterMediate Codec, DNxHD and more. This is a smart tool specially designed for 4k users to preview and convert 4K as well as 1080p recordings to your wanted video and audio formats, so as to smoothly add them into Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, iMovie, Avid Media Composer to do further editing. If you have GH5 4K editing issues on Windows PC, get the Video Converter to solve the problem.

How to convert and import GH5 4K 10bit to Davinci Resolve

Step 1. Install and launch the 4K to Davinci Resolve converter. Click the Add button to import your 4K videos to the program. Checking the "Merge into one file" box allows you to merge several videos into one file.

Step 2. Hit Format bar to select output format. You can choose Avid Media Composer > Avid DNxHD(*.mov) as output format. It is an ideal editing format for Resolve.

Tip: DNxHD codec just supports 1080p resolution. If you want to get original 4K resolution, you'd better choose "Final Cut Pro> Apple PreRes 422 as the output format. It is supported by Resolve.

Step 3. Click "Convert" button to start converting Panasonic GH5 4K for importing to Davinci Resolve.

After the conversion is finished, just run Davinci Resolve and import the generated video files. You will find the output video work perfectly on DaVinci Resolve 10/11/12/13/14.
